Wednesday, 20 August | Rare Midtown
4-course dinner with 7 wine pairings
Doors open 5.30pm | Event begins 6.30pm
$175 per person
Join us for an exclusive four-course dinner, paired with seven handpicked wines from Ironcloud — a boutique Western Australian producer quietly making waves from the red loam soils of Ferguson Valley.
Crafted from a single-vineyard estate established in 1999 on red gravelly loam soils, these small-batch wines are celebrated for their purity and regional expression. The evening will be hosted by co-founder Warwick Lavis, whose passion for fine wine and hospitality has shaped Ironcloud’s award-winning reputation.
The menu has been thoughtfully designed to showcase each pairing — such as herb-crusted lamb rack, elevated by the 2024 Rock of Solitude Purple Patch GSM, whose velvety plum and warm spice echo the lamb’s savoury richness. Alongside it, the 2023 The Alliance Grenache offers bright red-fruited clarity and fine tannins that cut through with precision, creating a dynamic interplay that highlights both the dish’s depth and the wine’s finesse.
Throughout the evening, Warrick will share his winemaking journey, the stories behind each label, and what makes the Ferguson Valley a hidden gem in the Australian wine landscape.
More about
Ironcloud Wines
Ironcloud Wines is a boutique winery in Western Australia’s Ferguson Valley, part of the Geographe Wine Region. Established in 2003 by Warwick Lavis and Geoff and Karyn Cross, the 28-acre vineyard was planted in 1999 on prized red gravelly loam soils. Varietals include Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Malbec, Saperavi, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and more, all thriving on gently sloping hillsides nourished by Henty Brook.
Their winemaking, led by Kim Horton, focuses on capturing terroir-driven character across three ranges: the approachable Pepperilly, the more complex Rock of Solitude, and the premium Alliance selection. Ironcloud has received widespread acclaim and multiple awards.
