Join us at Rare Steakhouse Midtown for a special evening of fine food and wine, as we partner with Château Tanunda, the Barossa Valley’s first winery and an icon of Australian winemaking. This exclusive five-course dinner, paired with eight carefully selected wines, offers a rare opportunity to indulge in a thoughtfully curated menu to exemplify the essence diverse and rich characteristics of Château Tanunda’s winemaking legacy.

This curated dining experience takes you on a journey through the rich and diverse flavours of the Château Tanunda portfolio. Enjoy the highlights of their Old Vine Expressions—including the iconic 100-Year-Old Vine Shiraz—sourced from some of the world’s oldest ungrafted vines. These exceptional wines, paired with a menu designed to complement their bold character, showcase the unique terroir of the Barossa Valley.

Enjoy perfect pairings, such as the O’Connor Porterhouse with the 50-Year-Vine Shiraz — where the steak’s rich marbling is beautifully balanced by the wine’s bold tannins and dark fruit notes.

Throughout the evening, Senior Winemaker Jeremy Ottawa will share his insights into the craftsmanship and heritage behind Château Tanunda, guiding you through the history of one of Australia’s most beloved wineries. Château Tanunda

Château Tanunda, Icon of the Barossa, is one of Australia’s most historically significant wineries. Established in 1890, the Château is a cornerstone of the Barossa wine industry and is the site of the Valley’s first winery, as well as its first vineyards planted back in 1843.

The Geber family are custodians of a proud winemaking tradition spanning three centuries. They have put their heart, soul and passion into handcrafting some of the Barossa’s most collectable wines since 1998. The majestic bluestone winery and vineyards are a living testament to the colourful history and pioneering spirit of Australia’s most famous wine region.

Tickets to this five-course wine dinner are available for $175PP.

Guests are welcome to arrive from 5.30pm onwards to enjoy pre-drinks from our in-house menu, with the event starting at 6.30pm sharp.
